Barclay’s bank has launched an app for investment companies to give them access to content to support their investment decisions.

The Barclay’s Live app, which is available on the App Store, gives large institutional investors access to data, analytic’s and research from the bank.

“Clients are looking for the content that is most relevant to their investment decisions,” said Larry Kantor, head of research at Barclay’s. “[The app] for iPad allows clients to access the content they want, when they want it, by delivering market intelligence that is tailored to their specific needs.”

The institutional investment clients already use Barclay’s Live but the app will make its use more flexible.

The consumerisation of IT in the enterprise is a trend driving Barclay’s to provide tablet and mobile services. “The quality of mobile apps in the consumer space has raised the bar for enterprise apps,” said Valerie Monchi, head of research operations at Barclay’s.
