Hewlett-Packard Company has been working in the field of cyber security for a long time now. However the company has recently increased its focus in this field. Art Gilliland, HP Enterprise Security Products, was on CNBC‘s Squawk box earlier today and he was explaining about Atalla, Hewlett-Packard Company cloud security encryption product.
Gilliland started discussing about the encryption technologies of Hewlett-Packard Company that it has been using to protect over $9 trillion worth of transactions for their banking and financial clients over the last couple of decades.
A regular consumer sitting at home won’t even notice all that is happening in the background and he feels secure as his transaction gets completed without a glitch. Approximately 70% of the ATMs use Atalla as a technology to encrypt the pins that traverse from the ATM to the central server. This is useful when someone is withdrawing money from other bank ATMs as here the two banks need to talk to each other and also maintain the security quotient. Atalla really helps in such situations.
