AT&T brings Amazon Web Services into NetBond cloud network

On the heels of Google Compute Engine's latest price reductions, it was assumed Amazon Web Services would answer accordingly.

Although not quite the same as a routine round of heavy discounts, the cloud provider does have a big development in the works in tangent with AT&T.

AWS is the latest big player in tech to join the telecommunications giant's NetBond cloud integration platform.

NetBond is designed to serve as a foundation for AT&T business customers looking to connect respective Virtual Private Networks with any cloud compute or IT service environment in AT&T’s partner ecosystem.

As a security precaution, traffic is isolated so that it is directed only to cloud platforms with access to AT&T's private global network.

AT&T introduced a similar deal for Microsoft Azure public cloud customers last fall and then with Salesforce.com earlier this year.

Additional tech heavyweights attached to NetBond include IBM, Equinix, Hewlett-Packard, Box, and VMware, among others. Through these integrations, AT&T boasts to serve businesses across a swath of industries with data-sensitive needs, such as healthcare and government.

Through this new collaboration, AT&T enterprise customers will be able to connect to AWS via AT&T's MPLS VPN from any location on a private network.
