The majority of EMEA channel partners and system integrators believe that Software-Defined Networking (SDN) will be of paramount importance over the coming two years, a new survey has revealed.
Brocade surveyed over 230 distributors, resellers and customers from across EMEA and found that 54% believed SDN and Network Functions Virtualisation (NFV) would play an increasingly key role in enterprise infrastructure over the coming years.
While only 18% of those surveyed already had live deployments of SDN and NFV, 62% were either currently evaluating solutions or had the intention of doing so over the coming year.
Asked about challenges on the horizon, 46% of customers cited both complexity and bandwidth provisioning as the biggest hurdles to overcome.
When it came to choosing a vendor, 67% of partners said that technology differentiation was a critical factor, while 42% believed that a vendor’s vision and strategy were also key.
