Datacentre incumbent Equinix has acquired Nimbo, an IT professional services firm, in a bid to help the firm bolster its ability to support datacentre migrations, network optimisation and hybrid cloud architectures.
Nimbo is a professional services outfit that specialises in migrating line of business applications to the cloud, custom application development and application integration. Neither firm has disclosed the financial terms of the acquisition, but Equinix said Nimbo had revenues of less than $10m in 2014.
“Our core strengths are in architecture, assessments, migration and training, and we look forward to helping an even larger group of businesses going forward,” said Ira Bell, chief operating officer and co-founder of Nimbo.
Pete Hayes, chief sales officer of Equinix also commented on the acquisition: “Nimbo has a thriving practice, advising many of the Fortune 100 on their cloud strategies, winning awards for growth and innovation in this space. With our acquisition of Nimbo, we have expanded our ability to help customers leverage our unique cloud-density and cloud exchange value propositions and assist with the design and deployment of hybrid cloud solutions.”
