Asda has signed a contract with Eagle Eye and Toshiba to enable the retailer to accept digital coupons at the point of sale (PoS) in its stores.
The deployment of digital promotions specialist Eagle Eye’s Air platform within Asda’s existing PoS system will allow the grocer to accept digital marketing coupons from customers who shop in its supermarkets.
The technology means staff will not have to accept paper vouchers, which will improve fraud prevention and efficiencies.
Andrew Carr, UK country manager, Toshiba Global Commerce Solutions, said the integration of Eagle Eye with Asda’s Toshiba PoS systems will also allow the retailer to conduct real-time reporting and analysis for digital campaigns.
By having real-time issuance and redemption of coupons, Asda will be able to track its offers and build a picture of its customers’ behaviour, allowing the retailer to push more relevant marketing messages to loyal customers.
