Sage, one of the world-leaders in enterprise resource planning (ERP) solutions, has teamed up with Apple to bring a new real-time accounting tool to the iOS platform. The development of Sage Live is the first of a reported plethora of apps set to offer support and business guidance to small firms. This comes at a time when many businesses are seeking out innovative solutions to provide them with real-time data to aid the decision-making process; now, organisations will be able to access Sage software at the touch of the download button.

Under the latest agreement, Apple and Sage will work alongside each other to bring a host of exclusive products to the iPad and iPhone. Sage Live will be available as a downloadable solution from Apple’s App Store and is set to be the first in a series of applications aimed at helping small- and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). Sage claims the new tools will provide some advanced real-time business management tools and will offer improved effectiveness and efficiency to the entire supply chain. This should mean that regardless of company size, executives can have next-generation tools at their fingertips.

Sage’s global strategic partnerships and alliances executive, Alan Laing, said: “Mobile and cloud technology is revolutionising the way small and medium businesses work, giving real-time decision making for the first time ever, reducing costs and democratising access to business management tools. iOS is the leading mobile platform for business users and we are deepening our commitment to iOS by delivering our new Sage Live solution for iOS that provides simple, insightful accounting and payment services to small- and medium-sized businesses.”

He added that he sees the future of business as mobile, revealing that Sage is excited to have partnered with Apple for the series of exclusive apps. This will mean that simple yet powerful accounting tools can be utilised by small and medium businesses to help them to push growth. “In a time of seismic technological change and digital invention, we want to provide the smartest technology to reinvent and simplify business accounting,” he said.

The agreement could prove beneficial for the thousands of iOS users around the world. Mobile solutions are increasingly used by businesses as they access data on the go and work remotely. By being able to simply download Sage’s accounting tools from Apple’s App Store, businesses will gain a powerful solution for improving strategies, decision making and profit growth.
