Salesforce, one of the global leaders in customer relationship management (CRM) tools, has said it will extend its Wave Analytics program to channel partners. The solution, which has been developed for the Salesforce Community Cloud, will allow channel partners to use data and analytics, which were previously inaccessible. This could provide many benefits for companies, especially those that want to benchmark themselves against competitors with anonymity and gain important insights that allow for more productive and efficient future growth.
Salesforce’s decision to extend the Wave Analytics for Community Cloud to its channel partners could be smart move, with the CRM company’s customers able to use such a feature as a selling point to new potential clients. A lot of businesses around the world rely heavily on sales channel information, using such data to drive sales and facilitate growth. Businesses can also compare how others in a similar sector are doing. With this in mind, Salesforce will now allow the Wave Analytics dashboard to be rolled out to partners, embedding the service within client and community sites.
One of the sectors that is most likely to welcome the move is that of companies that rely heavily on resellers. The technology, manufacturing, financial services and consumer packaged goods industries, for example, all rely on a vast network of distributors, resellers and brokers to identify potential leaders and drive sales forwards.
Talking of the important step for Salesforce, Wave Analytics Cloud Vice President Jamie Domenici explained that one of the current problems for companies is that they can’t access secure data from the firms they work with. The new solution should solve this issue, allowing partners to anonymously benchmark their performance against others in similar sectors and, as a result, garner far more insights from the data. “Everyone has some sort of indirect selling model used as an extension of a sales team,” he said.
Meanwhile, Salesforce added that it wasn’t only sole companies who could benefit but also franchises. Here, businesses would be able to take advantage of using analytics being spread through a large network, not only of franchisees but also other companies.
Wave for Community Cloud is already generally available to firms. Channel partners will be provided with historical trends and interactive summaries. They will also be able to look at both internal and third-party data sets, which can be used to gather even more invaluable insights.
