New data warehousing tool launched by ServiceChannel

ServiceChannel, one of the world’s leaders in service automation via Software-as-a-Service (SaaS), has unveiled ServiceChannel Data Direct, a data warehousing tool that will provide improved business intelligence (BI) throughout an enterprise. The solution provides a way for users to access on-demand facilities management information. This can be integrated with other consumer data to provide transparent and comprehensive insights.

The new tool from ServiceChannel adds to the company’s current portfolio of BI and analytical solutions. One of the key aims for Data Direct is to answer the growing need to support decision-making by unifying an enterprise’s data. For example, FM data provided by ServiceChannel can now be correlated and analysed against other information such as corporate sales figures. This provides executives with a way to establish profitability of stores and locations based on various metrics such as contractor performance, brand compliance and quality of service.

ServiceChannel Chief Executive Officer Tom Buiocchi said: “Data Direct is a natural extension of our 'data-minded' focus to help our customers achieve unprecedented levels of transparency, visibility and efficiency in their operations. It is an acknowledgement that FM data is even more valuable when it's analyzed as part of an enterprise-wide data management practice using standard methodologies and processes.”

When it comes to accessing data, ServiceChannel users have a number of options. Firstly, they can utilise a secure and dedicated platform that’s hosted by the firm on an Amazon Web Services-based server. Alternatively, data can be exported into a firm’s own internal network so that executives can aggregate and extract information as they please. In addition, the tool has seamless integrations with many of the world’s most heavily used BI tools, including those offered by leaders such as SAP, Oracle, IBM and Microsoft.

With the debut of Data Direct, ServiceChannel has addressed some of the major trends that are impacting modern facilities management industries. These include meeting the rising demand to correlate facilities data against other information – something that brands need to do particularly if they’re managing a number of locations and have data stored in siloed systems.

“By using advanced database and analytics techniques that Data Direct provides, companies will be able to better understand the impact of facilities on the rest of their business and vice versa,” Buiocchi explained. “Unifying the data and data analysis in this manner will open a wealth of new insights that will support improvements in creating new revenue streams while slashing unnecessary costs.”
