Programme Manager (Aviation) needed. Our client, a leading Aviation company in Bedfordshire, is in need of a Programme Manager (Aviation) to start ASAP on a 6 month Contract.

As the Programme Manager, you will support the sponsor with the design & establishment of an effective governance structure and set the heartbeat of the programme. You will also provide expert guidance, support and assurance to workstream leads, aimed at achieving delivery of the agreed business outcomes to time, budget and quality expectations.

As the Programme Manager, you will monitor the progress of individual workstreams, working with the key teams to understand and track delivery, anticipate risks and ensure effective issue resolution. You will also ensure that relevant programme level risks, issues, actions, costs, schedules, benefits and other related artefacts are documented, maintained and tracked appropriately.

You will also ensure high delivery standards and performance of project teams formed by internal employees, contractors and external suppliers in a matrix organisation, being actively involved in the identification of the right resources.

As the Programme Manager you will have:

  • Previous experience of the Aviation industry
  • Experience of working in a Unionised environment an advantage
  • Demonstrable experience of building consensus around change, influencing multiple stakeholders and managing conflicting agendas
  • Able to coach senior leaders in the development of change leadership behaviours
  • Experience of managing portfolios of projects and programmes
  • Experience of establishing effective relationships within the Business community
  • Ability to build high performing virtual teams
  • Ability to think commercially and strategically - quickly assess and quantify short and long term impact of changes, deal with ambiguity and uncertainty and be able to evaluate options to meet business expectations and provide maximum value
  • First-hand experience and knowledge of formal Project & Programme Delivery methodologies with support accreditations (such as Prince2, MSP, Prosci, APM, etc.)
