Application Support Consultant - London - £350-£400 per day

I have been engaged by a global investment bank, who require a Application support consultant Developer for a 4-month contract based in London

As a technical candidate, the teams you will be working with are all within the Risk & PnL Application Support area. The teams are global and provide support for the Production systems within their areas to ensure the stability through proactive monitoring, delivery of new releases and that users are helped with whatever issues they may face.

Responsibilities of the Application support consultant:

  • To enhance and further develop a set of python scripts that take data from various sources (E.G XML, CSV)
  • To automate daily tasks using KPI data from the SQL database for reporting
  • To enhance and further develop a set of python scripts to aggregate and store KPI data for reporting into a SQL Database
  • Leverage existing python libraries including bespoke packages to build utilities to automate application recovery, health checks and deployment tasks
  • Track issues effectively using ITIL approved methodology (incidents, changes, requests and problems

Essential skills for the APS Developer:

  • Linux/UNIX Systems
  • Windows Systems
  • Python (Scripting language) with confidence handling of XML, Windows Services, IIS web services
  • SQL
  • ServiceNow (ITIL)
  • Geneos (Monitoring Framework)
  • Degree level education in relevant subject (Computer Science, Mathematics et al)
