Job Description

Montash are offering an exciting opportunity for an experienced Java Developer to take on a technical role for a global organisation based in Cambridge.

The ideal candidate will be innovative and highly interested in researching and using cutting-edge technologies and passionate about their work. The role will primarily focus on developing applications in a rapid prototyping environment as well as data analysis, so experience in these areas is a huge advantage.

Key Responsibilities Include:-

  • Take ownership of application development and data analysis efforts and help establish best practices
  • Innovate and test new technologies with relevance to BI and analytics, including POCs, assessments and business case development

Technical Knowledge:-

  • Software engineering including programming (JavaScript, Java, Python, PL/SQL, UNIX, ETL frameworks, etc.)
  • Experience with Big Data technologies such as Talend, Hadoop or Hive.
  • Experience in web-based application development within a rapid prototyping environment would be highly advantageous

Required Skills:-

Expert level skills in:

  • Application Development
  • Data Visualisation & Exploration

Professional level skills in at least 2:

  • REST and SOA
  • Data Analytics
  • ETL and warehousing
  • Information Modelling
  • Master Data Management


  • Experience with BI applications and tools
  • Experience in working in an agile environment
  • Good Influencing and Innovation skills, with a passion for new technologies
  • Strong interpersonal skills and passion for customers

The salary for this role is circa £60k per annum with a flexible benefit package up to £75k
