Big Data Java Developer (JAVA / Scala / Hadoop / Spark / Hive) - 12 Month Contract


My client are a globally known Telecommunications Company based in Ireland and are looking for a Big Data Java Developer (JAVA / Scala / Hadoop / Spark / Hive).


The Big Data Java Developer will have responsibilities in:

  • Design and build robust and scalable solutions for Big Data problems
  • Rapid Development and design on JAVA or SCALA based server side software to prove the concept of prototypes


The right Big Data Java Developer must have:

  • Demonstrated practical understanding of the specification, design, documentation, coding, testing and release of commercial software;
  • Fluent in JAVA & SCALA coding;
  • Hands-on coding experiences with big data frameworks (Spark, Hadoop, Storm etc.)
  • In-depth insights of popular big data frameworks (Hadoop, Spark, Mahout, MLlib, Giraph etc), and thorough knowledge of Big Data principles (data parallel, graph computing etc), architectures and their implementations in large environments
