Motash is currently retained by a Global Leading Organisation seeking to acquire their Head of Database Engineering responsible for leading their mature database team.

Our client is seeking an experienced Database Technology Engineer at Director level, ideally with previous experience leading teams and previous expereince in a global organisation.

The ideal candidate will have excellent stakeholder skills as well as the technical knowledge and experience that would allow them to being involved in database engineering activities.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead a team of designers, engineers and consultants while being part of the team and providing database engineering and design activities
  • Ensure low level design and build of solutions are carried out in accordance to global standards defined by the company
  • Being an SME in analysing metrics and data in order to make the appropriate business decisions
  • Actively engage within the business to understand the database requirements
  • Lead the design & create phase for database
  • Manage the lifecycle of the approved products and solutions in use
  • Understand vendor roadmaps and End Of Life cycles
  • Work closely with the delivery teams
  • Being able to provide 3rd line support for incident/ problem resolution

The ideal candidate for this role will have the following skills and experience:

  • Experience in Database Technology Engineering (Design and Build)
  • Experience with leading complex teams
  • Experience and understanding of the issues associated with database practices in a global environment
  • Excellent Business Engagement Skills
  • Excellent Communication Skills
  • Robust team work demonstrated both within and outside the IT function
  • Extensive experience of built and create databases in a financial organisation would be advantageous
