Montash have been engaged by a FTSE 3 Company to source a project manager with experience in the Phamaceutical/Medical Device/Life Science industry to manage a variety of initiatives to extend the use of existing systems and to deliver new systems.

After a recent reorganisation they are looking to align business processes and extend quality critical IT Systems to ensure good practice is applied to all scientific and product data and content management.

The product must comply with a range of market specific regulations and data traceability and provenance is important.

Accountabilities

The role will include, supporting:

Processes

  • Manage a team of Business SMEs and the assigned IT Business Analyst through the design and implementation of business processes based on good practice (GxP)

Technology

  • Manage the rollout of the following existing systems to a new group within R&D
  • Master Control Enterprise Quality Management system
  • SharePoint Content Management
  • Waters NuGenesis Scientific Data Management / ELN
  • Manage the delivery of a centralised Computer Aided Design (CAD) system to enable secure, controlled management of product drawings

The role will include, supporting:

Processes

General Role Profile

  • Direct and manage project from beginning to end.
  • Define project scope, goals and deliverables that support business goals in collaboration with senior management and stakeholders.
  • Develop full-scale project plans and associated communications documents.
  • Effectively communicate project expectations to team members and stakeholders in a timely and clear fashion.
  • Liaise with project stakeholders on an ongoing basis.
  • Estimate the resources and participants needed to achieve project goals.
  • Draft and submit budget proposals, and recommend subsequent budget changes where necessary.
  • Where required, negotiate with other department managers for the acquisition of required personnel from within the company.
  • Set and continually manage project expectations with team members and other stakeholders.
  • Delegate tasks and responsibilities to appropriate personnel.
  • Identify and resolve issues and conflicts within the project team.
  • Identify and manage project dependencies and critical path.
  • Plan and schedule project timelines and milestones using appropriate tools.
  • Track project milestones and deliverables.
  • Develop and deliver progress reports, proposals, requirements documentation, and presentations.
  • Determine the frequency and content of status reports from the project team, analyze results, and troubleshoot problem areas.
  • Proactively manage changes in project scope, identify potential crises, and devise contingency plans.
  • Define project success criteria and disseminate them to involved parties throughout project life cycle.
  • Coach, mentor, motivate and supervise project team members and contractors, and influence them to take positive action and accountability for their assigned work.
  • Build, develop, and grow any business relationships vital to the success of the project.
  • Conduct project post mortems and create a recommendations report in order to identify successful and unsuccessful project elements.
  • Develop best practices and tools for project execution and management.

Essential Skills

  • Direct work experience in a project management capacity, including all aspects of process development and execution. (Mandatory)
  • Project Management Qualification (Mandatory and preferably PRINCE2 Practitioner)
  • Experience of delivering IT systems in a Pharmaceutical or Life Science environment (Mandatory)
  • An understanding of the requirements of Computer Systems Validation / GAMP5 (Desirable)
  • An understanding of the requirements of ITIL (Desirable)

Nice to Have Skills

Experience in any of the following areas would be an advantage:

  • Analytical laboratory processes and systems (LIMS, LES, ELN, Cheminformatics)
  • R&D environments
  • Quality Management processes and Enterprise Quality Management Systems (Master Control)
  • Document Management, Training Management, Quality Events (Investigations, CAPA etc)
  • Clinical Data Management, Data Standards, Dossiers, CTD, eTMF
  • Content Management, SharePoint
  • Implementation of / migration to externally hosted systems (cloud, SaaS, PaaS)
