Cloud Solution Architect

I am currently working with a Global Insurance Company that is about to embark in their Cloud Transformation. To support their transformation they are seeking an experienced Cloud Architect with extensive experience in high availability environments. Candidates with experience in the Insurance industry would be highly advantageous.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensures world-class, global SaaS application performance, scalability and high security, 24x7x365 global availability with high SLA achievement
  • Ability to think systematically, see the big picture, but with strong tactical action planning and problem solving with cutting-edge cloud technologies and services
  • Provides coaching, direction, and leadership support to team members in order to achieve partner, business, and customer results
  • Partners with the QA group to implement best practices, repeatable/measurable/predictable processes and automated test techniques
  • Ensures existing technology is optimally leveraged and new technology aligns with Company strategic architecture and vision
  • Architecting solutions for massive scale, resiliency and maintainability
  • Designing software-defined networks and secure data access
  • Provide guidance to product development scrum teams on design, implementation and adherence to engineering standards inclusive of best practices and proof-of-concepts
  • Perform technology evaluations and provide recommendations for key infrastructure components

Requirements:

  • A Bachelor's Degree or higher in Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field
  • 7+ years of experience with SaaS applications, preferably more recently based on Amazon Web Services (AWS) or Microsoft Azure
  • Demonstrated experience in driving collaboration with growing development teams supporting SaaS and/or cloud-based solutions within a growing company environment
  • Demonstrated experience building SaaS/cloud-based applications that perform well, are scalable, and reflect high security
  • Demonstrated experience with web-service-based SaaS/cloud-based applications
  • Understands importance of monitoring, alerting and escalation procedures
  • Deep expertise in troubleshooting infrastructure issues is required
  • Knowledge of virtualization, networking and load balancers
  • Knowledge of real time application dashboards showing overall health of the system with trending analysis and particular focus on capacity planning and management
  • Experience managing backend services for mobile applications a strong plus
  • Experience in quick delivery of business value through release management and agile methodologies, preferably experience with SCRUM
  • Able to define/update managed service standards, evaluate new technology, and work with key stakeholders on continuously improving cloud services
  • Experience building and managing effective relationships with 3rd party application and hosting providers
  • Demonstrated experience leading positive change, empowering people, cultivating product technology visions and innovative solutions and fostering effective engineering teams
  • A highly collaborative personality and excellent written and verbal communication skills, comfortable with all levels of management
