Job Description

Montash are currently in partnership with a leading client within the energy sector, for a senior project surveyor. You will be assisting the engineering support department in providing your specialist survey expertise to the project teams, developing the peer review process for operations support & engineering assurance, providing engineering assurance to three business streams whilst ensuring best practices and developing standards.

You will be reporting to the engineering manager, assistant engineering manager, and the engineering support manager on a hierarchy level. You will be reporting into the engineering support survey team lead on an operational level.

As a minimum, candidates should:

  • Possess a degree in a scientific or engineering subject
  • Previous experience of offshore survey operations
  • Previous experience of subsea construction operations
  • Previous experience of trenching related survey operations
  • Spoolpiece metrology methods
  • Pipeline survey operations

An ideal candidate will possess:

  • A Batchelor of Sciences Degree in Surveying
  • Experience with onshore project management of survey operations
  • Understanding of data managements methods
  • Understanding of inspection operations
  • Respectable communication skills and interpersonal skills

In the role you will be accountable for:

  • Providing survey operation support, technical expertise, and survey assurance throughout both the tender review process and the operations review process
  • Assisting and guidance throughout the procedure writing process
  • Reviewing survey subcontractor procedures
  • Ensuring that projects adhere to BMS process & procedure
  • Participating in undesired event investigations of survey operations, and implementing corrective/preventative actions
  • Supporting the PMT's via liaison with clients/survey subcontractors in respect of survey & positioning issues
  • Developing guidelines, standards, technical and operations documents to guarantee assurance and best practises
  • Providing assistance to the operations department regarding survey subcontractor management
  • Other various tasks as required by the engineering support survey team lead
