Senior Scala Developer - Scala - Cassandra - Play - Contract

Senior Scala Developer with Scala, Cassandra and Play for an initial 6 Month Contract

Experienced Scala Developer needed for an exciting Digital Ad Agency to work on their one-of-a-kind DSP innovation giving complete market transparency in the Ad space. The demand for Scala in Adtech is growing rapidly and this particular project is hinged on the ability of the Scala Developer to deliver a scalable solution that grows and adapts with the user. This is an excellent opportunity for a Scala Developer to get hands on with a truly unique project that will allow them to work with Scala in conjunction with tech that may have otherwise been inaccessible.

Your Mission:

As a Scala Technical Expert:

  • Understand complex business problems and translate the solution to technology.
  • TDD and code review.
  • Full Scala competence.
  • Migrate legacy system data into Cassandra (NoSQL) database.
  • Develop extremely scalable solutions embracing all functional programming principles.

As an Agile Team Member:

  • Thrives in a team environment and has strong people communication skills.
  • Actively participate in Scrum meetings.
  • Present sprint achievements in reveal.
  • Working closely with SQA and BA.

About you:

We NEED these:

  • Practical and demonstrable experience of building ground-up Scala applications.
  • An interest in developing knowledge of other emerging technologies to be used alongside Scala.
  • Solid understanding of Java standard APIs.

These would be nice:

  • A good/practical understanding of Front-End technologies - HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript etc.
  • Development with SaaS and/or Cloud Technologies such as AWS or Azure.
