Job Description

Systems Engineer required. A Systems Engineer with current SC clearance is required by Montash's Central Government client based in London. As Systems Engineer you will be play a central role in a data migration project and must possess hands on experience working with Solaris and AIX in enterprise environments.

As Systems Engineer you will have a proven track record managing, maintaining and improving Linux server environments (Solaris and AIX), and possess demonstrable experience delivering server migration projects.

It is highly desirable that you have an in depth knowledge of system migrations projects, and have ideally taken part in planning the migration of SPARC Solaris and IBM PowerPC AIX servers into new physical environments.

A strong track-record working in DevOps teams is also preferred as is demonstrable skills working with Puppet and AWS.

In summary, the Systems Engineer will possess the following skills and competencies:

  • Extensive experience as a Linux Systems Engineer in Solaris and AIX domains
  • Previous experience delivering data migrations projects
  • Current SC Clearance
  • Volume/storage management from the OS
  • Networking
  • Puppet
  • JumpStart & NIM
  • Kickstart
  • Scripting

Alongside strong technical capabilities you must also have excellent verbal and written communication skills, and be comfortable working with stakeholders at all levels.
