Team Lead - Excel VBA Developer - Central London - £50,000

Our client a Global Financial Services organisation with a revenue of over $37 billion are actively seeking a Senior Excel VBA Developer who will be responsible for the supervision of a development team tasked with the implementation of the tactical Excel solution across UK & Europe.

The Senior Excel VBA Developer will be working closely with project managers to design and implement timelines, requirements gathering directly from the business and liaising with key stakeholders.

Essential Skills:

  • Previous experience working within an Insurance environment
  • Advanced MS Excel, VBA experience
  • SQL & MS Access exposure
  • Previous line management experience
  • Excellent communication skills

Responsibilities:

  • Line management and personal development of a team of skilled developers.
  • Develop the tactical Excel solution for new products.
  • Working closely with Development Project Managers and Business Analysts to produce accurate delivery estimates and manage the transition from analysis through to design and delivery.
  • Undertake requirements gathering directly with business stakeholders (workshops or 1 to 1 interactions).
  • Ensure the quality of the output from the development team and that the tool is working as intended. Support and host user acceptance testing sessions as required.
  • Manage the expectations of internal customer requests.
  • Manage and resolve any support issues (Service Now, Support inbox, E-mail, Phone etc) and ensure issues are resolved within agreed SLAs. Troubleshoot and technical support from any queries from the development team or internal customers.
  • Support project resource scheduling and department capacity planning.
  • Ownership, development and management of allocated departmental processes.

Candidates without relevant experience in the insurance industry or without team leadership experience will not be considered.
