Job Description

Technical Architect (Java) required. A Technical Architect with a strong Java background is required by Montash for a prestigious, market-leading client based in London on an initial six month contract. As a Technical Architect with a focus on Java, you will play a key role in establishing an IT architecture strategy which will enable the organisation to implement a scalable, resilient, secure and cost effective platform that aligns with their corporate business strategy.

Alongside a proven track-record in the leadership of software development projects you will also possess experience in the DevOps stack, including core Java, Maven, Jenkins, puppet and chef.

As Technical Architect you will establish an architecture roadmap to implement the architecture strategy, developing the business cases for technical projects, such as platform upgrades or consolidation and data architecture rationalisation.

It is important for the Technical Architect to understand automation, continuous delivery and continuous deployment, and come from an agile environment.

The Technical Architect will also be responsible for tracking and developing the application portfolio, applying application life cycle strategies for acquisition, enhancement, replacement, consolidation and retirement of applications, as well as ensuring architectural reuse, consistency and integrity within the application portfolio.

You will have the following skills and experience:

  • Core Java
  • Worked in a DevOps environment
  • Understand automation, continuous delivery and continuous deployment
  • Have worked in an agile environment
  • Maven
  • Jenkins
  • Puppet
  • Chef

It will also be highly desirable if you have a history of analysing the existing IS infrastructure and business systems of medium to large organisations, making suitable recommendations for appropriate technology solutions to meet business requirements.

Alongside expert technical expertise you will also be a strong communicator with the ability to liaise with business people and stakeholders at all levels.
