Global Pharmaceutical company undergoing a large IT Transformation is seeking a Lead Solution Architect with Veeva experience.

Responsibilities include Global Application and Technical Architecture: Recognized as an expert in Veeva CRM architecture, configuration, customization and integration. Working with a matrix team of global Commercial I/T members, drive and own the base-lining and evolution of the technical foundations of applications and their interactions. Review all regional requirements that cannot be addressed by Veeva/SFDC and other products out of the box and recommend appropriate path forward (e.g. alternate approach, product enhancement request, app exchange partner solution, customization, etc.). Assist in technology evaluations and conduct POCs to demonstrate various capabilities based on our needs and guide solution architecture and design based on the POC results. Review and approve our application customizations and integrations and lead customization and integration design in partnership with the regional teams. Lead development of major customizations. Review application architecture and design to ensure conformance to guiding principles

Maintain our SFDC configuration and development guidelines document and guide regional team in the application of the same. Document and communicate Veeva/SFDC administration Standard Operating Procedures. Guide and lead regional teams in the management of Veeva/SFDC and general administration and support activities including data migration, release management and deployment. Conduct Veeva/SFDC configuration and customization training and act as a mentor and consultant for application configuration and customization teams. Working tightly with the relevant shared services technical teams and be the conduit and the point contact for CRM domain architecture. Create opportunities for use of existing shared services; and drive shared service capabilities that will enable/enhance Pharma CRM I/T value proposition.

Pharma Business Process Architecture and Roadmaps: Working with a matrixed team of Commercial I/T members and Director of Commercial Architecture, maintain and evolve CRM functional architecture. Lead business process and capability workshops and create and maintain CRM business capability and application roadmaps. Identify where new strategic directions need to be addressed based on the known new technologies. Ensure that the integrated roadmap is leveraging existing Pharma/Enterprise assets combined with the established end-state/target Enterprise IT architecture.

On an ongoing basis, own and evolve the CRM application architecture. Through the Director of Commercial I/T Architecture, partner with the business leaders to understand the market drivers that determine new technical requirements and bring the appropriate solutions into the target architecture definition. Participate in architecture development and reviews for Pharma projects to maintain alignment with overall I/T strategy. Be responsible for identifying Pharma Commercial projects to be reviewed for architectural compliance. Partner with counterparts in Consumer, MD&D and Corporate to maximize leverage of assets and roadmaps.


Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field is required. A minimum of 8 years of Business and Technology experience developing technology strategies and architecture deliverables, and execution of programs/projects is required. A minimum of 5 years experience with or Veeva CRM application configuration and architecting cloud based integrations is required. A minimum of 5 years of partnering/guiding clients at executive levels is required. A minimum of 2 years of Pharma industry experience is required. Strong working knowledge of the processes and data in Pharma Commercial with a hands-on knowledge in delivering IT results is required. A proven track-record in delivering SaaS based solutions and taking responsibility for guiding IT and Business peers and leadership is required.

The demonstrated ability to take a global view of the function and be responsive to all constituents across the globe is required. The ability to communicate both to business and IT in order to translate implications of technology and timing aspects of I/T solution with respect to business results is required. The ability to reach out across business functional areas and I/T is required. The ability to be strategic as well as pragmatic and be focused on achieving results for business success is required. A proven track-record of being accountable for customer satisfaction is required. Demonstrated ability of reaching out to learn about future IT trends and suggest pilot and innovation programs within strategic roadmaps, in cooperation with I/T and Business peers is required. A strong understanding of and commitment to Business and I/T Strategic intent and be able to translate and incorporate into capability roadmaps is required. The ability to prioritize to help achieve incremental results progressively is required. A self starter in bringing structured thinking and planning aspects into the creative process of discovery of synergies while synthesizing aggregate roadmaps is required. Excellent interpersonal, communication and customer relationship skills are required.

Global experience is preferred. Masters degree in Computer Science, Business or related field is preferred. Experience with SFDC security architecture is preferred. Experience with Master Data Management is preferred. Experience with Pharma commercial data is preferred.
